Who we are and what these terms cover

Datamine Network Inc. ("we", "us"), a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada, operates the site at https://datamine.network. These terms apply when you use the site. If you use the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Our Privacy Policy tells how the site handles data. It is part of these terms.

What the site is

The site gives information about our open-source research: ILM, a CPU-only language model, and the Datamine Network smart contracts on Ethereum and Arbitrum. The site sells nothing. It has no accounts, holds no funds and does not connect to a crypto wallet. You can use it at no cost.

Open-source licences

All of our work is open source, and each project has its own licence:

• The source of this site: GNU Affero General Public License, version 3.
• ILM: Apache License 2.0.
• The Datamine Network dashboard: MIT License.
• The Datamine Network smart contracts: public on Ethereum and Arbitrum, where anyone can read them.

How the licences and these terms work together

The licence of a project governs how you can use, copy, change and share its code, models and data. These terms do not reduce a right that a licence gives you. If these terms and a licence are different about the code, models or data of a project, the licence applies.

The public datasets that ILM reads keep their own licences. Those licences apply to the data.

An open-source licence does not give you the right to use our names or logos. Do not use "Datamine Network", "ILM" or our logos in a way that tells people that we made, approve or support your product, unless we agree in writing. You can use the names to describe our work correctly.

No investment advice

Nothing on the site is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. Nothing on the site is an offer to sell, or a request to buy, a token, a security or other financial product.

The site tells what the smart contracts do and what they do not guarantee. It gives no prices and no forecasts. A token can lose all of its value. Tokens that validators mint are new supply, and a holder who does not lock tokens owns a smaller share of the supply over time. Before you make a decision, read the contracts and the audits, and get advice from a qualified person where you live.

The banner on the site shows the available liquidity of the Datamine Network pools, as analytics.datamine.network reports it, and milestones toward our goal. It is information about a public figure. It does not give you a claim on Datamine Network Inc., its revenue or its research.

Smart contracts and public chains

The Datamine Network smart contracts have no owner, no admin key, no pause function and no upgrade path. Nobody, including us, can change them, stop them, reverse a transaction or recover tokens that were sent to the wrong address.

If you use the contracts, you do so with your own wallet and through apps that you choose. You are responsible for your wallet, your keys, your transactions and the network fees you pay. You accept these risks, among others:

• The price of a token can fall to zero. There is no peg, no reserve and no buyer of last resort.
• What you mint depends on your choices and on what other validators do. The formula is fixed. The result is not.
• There is no insurance and no regulator. A mistake cannot be reversed.
• The token contracts were audited, but an audit does not prove that there are no bugs.
• Laws about crypto assets are different in each country and can change.

Your responsibility under the law

You are responsible for obeying the laws that apply to you, including laws about crypto assets, sanctions and tax. Do not use the site or the contracts where the law does not permit it.

Research results

The results of ILM on the site come from the ILM repository, with the benchmark, the test split and the source of each number. They are research results. They can contain errors, and a later run or another computer can give different times. The code is open, so you can run each test yourself. Do not use ILM where an error can cause injury, loss of life or significant loss of property, unless you test it for that use yourself.

Acceptable use

Do not try to damage the site, get access to systems that you are not permitted to use, or put an unusual load on the site or on the request that it relays. Do not use the site to break the law. Automated reading of the public pages is permitted if it does not decrease the service for other visitors.

Links to other services

The site links to services that other companies operate, such as GitHub, Hugging Face, Discord, X, LinkedIn, Etherscan, Arbiscan, Uniswap and DefiLlama. We do not control those services and are not responsible for them. Their own terms apply when you use them.

No warranty

We supply the site "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent the law permits, we give no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the site is always available, correct or free of errors. The licence of each project gives its own warranty terms for its code and models.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law permits, Datamine Network Inc. and its directors, officers, employees and contributors are not liable for an indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for a loss of profit, revenue, data, tokens or goodwill, that comes from your use of the site, the smart contracts or our open-source software. This applies even if we were told that such a loss was possible.

Some places do not permit the exclusion of some warranties or the limitation of some liabilities. In those places, the exclusions and limits above apply only as far as the law permits.

Indemnity

To the extent the law permits, you agree to defend and compensate Datamine Network Inc. for claims and costs that come from your breach of these terms or of the law when you use the site.

Changes to these terms

We can change these terms. If we do, we will publish the new version here and change the effective date at the top. If you use the site after a change, you agree to the new version. You can ask us for earlier versions.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over a dispute about these terms. This does not remove a protection that the law where you live gives you.

If a court finds that a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the other parts stay in force. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, we do not give up the right to enforce it later.
